‘KINDRED SPIRITS: Exploring Interrelationships Between People, Places and Planet Earth,’ was an immersive and sensory group exhibition, public murals and month long residency (October 2019) at the East Hawai’i Cultural Centre (EHCC) in Hilo, Hawai’i. It was produced and curated by experimental artist residency ‘Temple Children’, which I co-founded in 2015.

For this exhibition MEGGS created a 3-Dimensional installation created from repurposed wood and a collaborated with THING THING studio (Detroit) on a series of paintings created on repursed plastic waste panels.

‘Kindred Spirits’ addresses our collective global consciousness and commitment to permaculture as a critical tool in determining the future of our planet. This experiential collection of mixed-media installations, public murals and film embodies our shared empathy for one another and the will to act collectively to better serve the environments we are fundamentally reliant on. The ‘Kindred Spirits’ exhibition showcases artists of varying backgrounds and mediums to explore the points where art and environmentalism intersect, celebrating the diversity of ideas, cultures and people, and honoring our collective home, Planet Earth.
